Michael Nelson is a Certified Peer Specialist Trainer with a proven record of accomplishments in providing Social and therapeutic support. Michael is a Certified Wrap Facilitator and has accomplished a wide variety of facilitation venues including: relapse and relapse prevention training, Wellness Groups, and Grief & Loss support groups at Tasker Street Missionary Baptist Church. Michael has achieved certification in Legal and Ethical Issues in the treatment of sex offenders, Specialized Case Management Services, Advanced Training in Tools for Recovery series 1 & 2. Michael’s experiences supporting those with forensic backgrounds includes conducting preauthorization to public and private care providers for treatment of Mental Health Consumers from Philadelphia County Prison. Michael’s duties at the Prison to Community Project included meeting committees, state agencies, community agencies, and other public groups with appropriate Care for Co-occurring inmate Consumers. Michael has helped provide educational training to Personal Care Homes in Drug & Alcohol Addiction. Michael has also provided Peer Support as a Certified Peer Specialist while working with the Friends Connection in Philadelphia. Michael is an award recipient from the American Poet Society and he also enjoys coaching little league Basketball one of Michael Favorite quotes: "A LIFE MEANS NOTHING UNTIL IT TOUCHES ANOTHER LIFE. " |
