Delaware County Certified Peer Specialist Professional Development and Support Group

Dates-Third Wednesday of Every Month
This is an established meeting for Certified Peer Specialists who are looking to find support and guidance in their professional development from other Certified Peer Specialists. It is also an opportunity to network, share resources, and hear about upcoming trainings, committee openings, and leadership and job opportunities. Guest speakers come on a fairly regular basis at the end of the meeting to share resources or collect input from CPSs.

Delco Certified Peer Specialist Training
Dates: February 13-17 & February 27 - March 2, 2012

The Certified Peer Specialist Program curriculum focuses on the principles and philosophy of recovery. The course facilitates learning by relating each session of the training encounter to the participants’ personal experience of recovery, and provides practice in the core skills of peer-to-peer support. The curriculum is presented within a three-part framework, which emphasizes: principles of recovery and peer support, essential skills of peer support and the experiential group process. This is an established meeting for CPS Supervisor's to help with supervision of CPSs. The meeting is used as an information exchange for supervisor's for this newly created position. This meeting also provides an opportunity to network, share resources and keep people up-to-date on any recent changes at the state level. This group meets on the second Thursday of the month on a quarterly basis.

Delco Advisory Committee Meeting

WRAP Around Delco
1 Day Organizational WRAP Introduction

2 Day Developing WRAP Seminar 1 Workshops
The 2 Day Developing WRAP Seminar 1 workshop's goal is to facilitate the development and understanding of Mary Ellen Copeland's Wellness Recovery Action Plan. The workshop will cover the history and dev elopement of Mary Ellen Copeland's research and discussion of the 5 Key Recovery topics as well as a thorough instruction of the structure of WRAP. Delaware County 5 Day WRAP Facilitator Training workshops
The 5 Day WRAP Facilitator Training goal is to provide an understanding of the facilitator skills and the values and ethics that are necessary for those wishing to facilitate WRAP workshops. Participants must have a thorough grasp on there own personal use of Wellness Recovery Action Plan and the 5 Key Concepts. This training is a practicum intense training. Participants will be presenting and demonstrating in front of the class skills necessary to be a facilitator as well as presenting parts of WRAP.
