Experience: Completion of Peer Specialist training and passing of certification examination required. Provides expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by persons served to have a satisfying life. Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on common experience as a peer, to validate experiences and to provide guidance and encouragement to take responsibility and actively participate in their own recovery. Assist in the development of WRAP; ensure immediate changes are made in plans as needs change; model and support families of person served; and advocate for rights and preferences.

Additional Comments: Must possess unique skill set as a person in recovery to extend knowledge to individuals served. Valid driver’s license in state of residence
