CPS Supervisor Training (S-CPS 301)

November 15 & 16, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Health Science Center (HSC) 2904/2905, Montgomery County Community College, 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422

This course lays the foundation of Supervision in a Peer Support Environment and incorporates Daniels' (2014) Pillars of Peer Support Supervision, Kadushin's (1976) Social Work model on the Functions of Supervision, and Bloom (1997), Anda and Felliti's (1998) work on Trauma. The course is designed as a hybrid learning environment which has 15 hours of classroom face time with an additional 6.5 hours possible through an online learning community focused on discussion and reading. The classroom portion of this course has been approved for 13.5 hours of continuing education units through the National Association of Social Work- PA Chapter.

The training will take place at Health Science Center (HSC) 2904 on 11/15/2018 and Health Science Center (HSC) 2905 on 11/16/2018 at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA.

Certified Peer Specialist Training Program (CPS 200)

The Institute has been authorized by the State Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) to train and certify Peer Support Specialists in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 2007. 

The Certified Peer Specialist curriculum focuses on the principles and philosophy of recovery and, throughout the course relates to individuals by applying their personal lived experiences to the core skills, knowledge and beliefs of peer-to-peer support.
