Principles of Recovery and Aspects of Community Integration Full day session

This full day session traces the development of recovery and community integration in the mental health system and introduces participants to the principles of recovery as envisioned by national consumer leaders. It will highlight some of the system changes necessary to transform current mental health programming toward greater community integration with a recovery orientation. Additionally, it will present an example of a recovery process, outline domains of community integration and provide participants the opportunity to share their own ideas and experiences of recovery and community integration.

This half day session traces the development of recovery and community integration in the mental health system and introduces participants to the principles of recovery as envisioned by national consumer leaders. In combination with recovery principles the workshop will identify obstacles preventing people from being full members of their communities and supports to enhance community integration. Additionally, it will highlight some of the system changes necessary to transform current mental health programming toward a greater community integration with a recovery orientation.
